As project manager & principal investigator for this U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Planning and Policy Evaluation, project, used in-house models to analyze the impacts of changes in energy taxes, vehicle technology, availability of alternative fuels, and other key variables on transport sector fuel use and emissions, vehicle miles traveled, etc. The results of this analysis were presented at the Energy Management Forum and other professional meetings in the form of reports and journal articles. Mr. Bando was responsible for coordinating the efforts of his team with those of other teams working on other key sectors of the economy, which included academics and professionals from the national laboratories, the Department of Energy, private consulting firms, and non-profit organizations. These teams met twice a year to discuss on-going research and to set the agenda for future work based on anticipated policy directions.
